Early in the summer, we went down to the Provo river to have a look at the swallows that nest there. We were also interested in seeing the swollen river. It was just about as full as it could possibly be without flowing over the bridges and walkways.
We were impressed with the sheer volume of water rushing along the banks and under the bridge.
It's easy to see how someone could get swept away.
The swallows nest right under the edge of the bridge. They fly back and forth tirelessly all day to bring their nestlings food.
The housing arrangements reminded me of a cliff dwelling or an apartment complex.
The birds were so fast, we only got a handful of pictures of them.
It was a beautiful day and great to get out into it!

Apartment complex...ha ha ha!
i hate swallows. They cause damage to houses. Victor has had to knock a few of the nests down from the house over the years.
