Where am I again?

Even though more than half of my readership is now within an hours drive of me, I figured I'd let those of you not just up the block know that Ben, the kids and I have all made it to Utah safely and are now digging our way out of boxes. The most recent progress was setting up my computer desk so that I can comfortably connect to the internet and get some things done.

The drive wasn't too bad. Audrey did amazingly well, but nearly had a nervous breakdown when we stayed overnight in Moab. I'm pretty sure she was wondering why we weren't home and spending the night in a familiar place. The poor thing hadn't been home since Monday morning. Little did she know that would be the last time she'd see her old house.

It's been fairly busy since we hit Orem. Unpacking of course, dinner at Dara's, a baptism on Saturday and a BBQ right after. We're still trying to get to 7 Peaks with family and there is a ward breakfast on the 4th of July.

Ben and I are still trying to remember to call our new house "Home" and our new ward "the ward"... That will take some time, I guess. I don't know if I'll ever get used to the idea of living in Utah.

Anyway, that's about all my brain can handle today. More blogging as the week moves along. Until then, miss me... because I miss you.

Jibblies!

So, Ben is officially done with this house...

Over the past 3 years and a little, we've had various critters thrust their company upon us: Ants, FLYING ants, many types of spiders (including a furry black kind with a red bottom that JUMPS!!), moths, flies, wasps!!, and who knows what all else.
Outside the confines of our walls, there are many other creatures cute and not so cute that populate the neighborhood but do not come in. Among those that typically do not enter our house is the cockroach. *Shiver!*

Okay... even looking at the picture gives me the jibblies!

Over the last three years, I have found perhaps 3 dead cockroaches in our house, or at least the evidence of them since they were pretty well done in by one or all of the cats. They do, however, like to hang out on the sidewalks after dark, so if you are watching closely after your eyes adjust, you'd see a good dozen or so at any give time. *Jibblies!*

Ben had me go out at look at something in the shed a couple of nights ago and it's a good thing he led the way since he flushed out all the lurking cockroaches and set them running to the weeds. A tougher woman would have ignored them... a jumpier woman would have screamed... I got the JIBBLIES...

Why do I mention this? Ben was getting Audrey ready for bed tonight while I was attending to Hank. All of the sudden, I hear a loud exclamation and Ben telling Audrey to "Go see Mama!" At my query, Ben, voice dripping with stress, only said, "I'm dealing with something right now!"

When he finally came out, it took him a while to spit out what happened. He kept holding his fingers apart about two inches with a strained look on his face. Finally, he explained that he practically ripped apart Audrey's room trying to catch the two inch cockroach that had been finding Audrey's pillow cozy.... Eeghhhh!

That's just SICK!

I have visions of Audrey innocently sleeping in her bed with a cockroach on her face... JIBBLIES!!!!!

Good thing we're leaving this week.

The Great Hair Adventure

The braids went in last night. I knew there was a definite possibility that the braids would last 5 minutes after bedtime. Much to my surprise, I found all the braids in this morning!

Light Socket Baby!

I figured it should LOOK like I made some sort of effort.

It might not be worth the effort but the cuteness is pretty fun!

More hair and my boys

Audrey and I are off on another hair adventure.

Someone was a little irritated with her mother.

Because it took far too long for a two year old to get this hair job done.

My boys

This is the face of a man who has had about two hours of sleep in the last two days.

I still can't decide who Henry looks like. Any ideas?
